Rutuja Dadaso Pisal won the first penalty corner of the evening for Ranchi Royals however, the opportunity was squandered as Maria Ortiz's dragflick was saved by the keeper. On the other end in the 25th minute, SG Pipers won back-to-back penalty corners but Lola Riera's shots on goal were denied by the Royals. Two minutes later, Pipers won yet another penalty corner but this time, it was successfully converted by their Captain Navneet Kaur (27') with a powerful shot to score the first goal of Women's Hero HIL 2025-26 season.

Las Shrachi Bengal Tigers lograron una victoria por 1-0 sobre el JSW Soorma Hockey Club en su primer partido de la Liga India de Hockey Femenino (HIL) 2025-26, disputado en el Estadio Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Astro Turf de Ranchi el lunes. El potente drag flick de Agustina Gorzelany (11') les dio a las Shrachi Bengal Tigers la ventaja en el primer cuarto y, a pesar del dominante ataque del JSW Soorma Hockey Club, no lograron quebrar la estelar defensa de las Tigers durante el resto del partido.

 Las Tigres intentaron avanzar por las bandas y consiguieron un córner corto a cinco minutos del final del cuarto. Agustina Gorzelany se adelantó para rematar el balón con un toque a la escuadra derecha. Buscando el empate, Soorma consiguió un córner corto al final del cuarto, pero el disparo de Shihori Oikawa se fue desviado.

Soorma remained on the front foot in the second quarter as well, penetrating the Tigers’ defence and earning multiple penalty corners but Lalremsiami’s brave rushing ensured the Tigers maintained their lead. Soon after, Soorma’s Maria Granatto made a marauding run through the middle after a turnover by the Tigers in midfield but Valentina Raposo snuffed out the danger, forcing Granatto wide and the Tigers held on to their slender advantage.

The Tigers started aggressively with an early circle entry, but SG Pipers absorbed the pressure and responded with swift passing to test the Tigers’ defence. Shrachi Bengal Tigers soon earned back-to-back penalty corners, converting the second through Agustina Gorzelany (6’) to take the lead. The response from the Pipers was immediate as they won a penalty corner of their own, with Lola Riera (10’) slotting home a well-placed effort to level the scores.

With seconds left in the first half, Ranchi Royals bagged the first goal of the contest. Agostina Alonso played a powerful pass into the circle from midfield as Rutuja Dadaso Pisal (30') showcased incredible skill to poach the ball perfectly, deflecting it into the net to score.
